LEO DISTRICT 404B2 DISTRICT PRESIDENT AND HIS ENTOURAGE VISITS LION WALE AFOLABI,CALLS FOR SMOOTH RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LIONS AND LEOS

On advancement of the leo district, the district president, Leo Babajide Awoderu 100%P, MGA, LAH and his visionary team visited the Leo program chairman of Lions District 404B2 Nigeria; Lion (ESV.) Wale Afolabi NLCF. The brief but interactive session started at about 1:15 pm with brief introduction. Discussions were hinged on forging great leo - lion relationships within the district as well as the focus activities of the Leo district as tailored in line with the targets of Lions Clubs International Foundation and objectives of the Leo program. 
Firstly, on Leo - Lion relationship, the Leo advisor encouraged Leos to be attend their lions club meetings, participate in the sponsoring lions clubs project activities, invite the lions constantly to the leo meetings, projects and investitures noting that keeping the lions at par with the Leo club activities will encourage them in fulfilling their obligations as the parent body of each leo club.
He also retreated the need for consistent orientation of Leos and Lions on the importance of the Leo - Lions relationship noting that the Leo club is the future of the Lions activity, as such good time and resources must be channeled to the activity, if the lions district must harvest potential lions from the leo clubs in the near future.
Secondly, the district president (DP) hinted the chairman on a drive to promote the sponsorship of alpha Leos considering that individuals who joined the Leo club as teens were better modulated in the values entrenched in the program. The district coordinator  (DC) for alpha leo drive, Leo Bolu Giwa, who doubles as the 2nd vice DP further appealed to the program chairman to take the message to the lions district to promote lions interest in alpha leo club sponsorship while stating that his administration is ready to channel great energy and resources into having project activities in schools where students can be harvested as alpha Leos.
Thirdly, the plans for the development of members’ capacities through series of training and retraining were highlighted by the DP. The DC for Orientation and Capacity Development and 1st Vice DP; Leo Adeola Ogunsola discussed in details about the training plans across the service year with much emphasis on the proposed officers’ training with club and district officers as main targets to be taken through a series of coaching on project management, financial intelligence,budgeting, communication skills cum audience management, leadership skills development etc. He also invited the leo program chairman officially as the keynote speaker for the event.
In conclusion, the leo Program chairman, who had served in the capacities of President of Maryland lions club and Zone Chairperson gave a brief talk on the need for continuity, gave immediate solutions to some Leo clubs with standing issues bothering on sponsorship e.g. Oyo Alaafin,  announced and redeemed his donation in support of the proposed officers training.
Other members of the district core officers that graced the visitation include Leo Taiwo Wasiu (District Chief of Staff), Leo Rita Bakare (District Treasurer), Leo Olaide Kadiri (District Treasurer II). Other members of the core officers were unable to make the meeting because they were away on other important assignments on behalf of the Leo District.
