LEO DISTRICT 404B2 DISTRICT PRESIDENT AND HIS ENTOURAGE VISITS LION WALE AFOLABI,CALLS FOR SMOOTH RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LIONS AND LEOS

On advancement of the leo district, the district president, Leo Babajide Awoderu 100%P, MGA, LAH and his visionary team visited the Leo program chairman of Lions District 404B2 Nigeria; Lion (ESV.) Wale Afolabi NLCF. The brief but interactive session started at about 1:15 pm with brief introduction. Discussions were hinged on forging great leo - lion relationships within the district as well as the focus activities of the Leo district as tailored in line with the targets of Lions Clubs International Foundation and objectives of the Leo program.  Firstly, on Leo - Lion relationship, the Leo advisor encouraged Leos to be attend their lions club meetings, participate in the sponsoring lions clubs project activities, invite the lions constantly to the leo meetings, projects and investitures noting that keeping the lions at par with the Leo club activities will encourage them in fulfilling their obligations as the parent body of each leo club. ..HISTORY The Leo Club is a community of young people who have chosen to serve. It is a non-religious, non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making charity organization whose major aim is to serve the less privileged as well as build responsible leaders in the society. We try to harness our individuals Talent, Treasures and Time to better the lives of others. In 1957, Coach Jim Graver set the Leo ball rolling. Graver was the coach of the Abington High School, Pennsylvania, USA, baseball team. Graver was also an active member of the Glenside Lions Club, Pennsylvania. With fellow Lion, William Ernst, Graver talked about starting a service club for high school boys. So they asked their fellow Lions for support. Without hesitation, the Glenside Lions agreed that a Lions youth group was a good idea. Graver and Ernst set to work.
